Evening beautiful people!!!
I created a turmeric face mask for Joy The Store to help spread awareness for mental health as May is mental health awareness month. Personally, through self care it has helped tackle my depression, especially through my daily beauty regimen. Bye bye self doubt and hello confidence! It is so important to care of yourself whether it is ten minutes or one hour, as not only will you see the improvement on the outside, but also on the inside. Now let’s make this mask!
1 Teaspoon of Turmeric
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties which help prevent acne and reduce acne scarring. Not only that it helps calm your skin and targets your pores, plus if you have dark spots it will slowly make them disappear. It has antioxidants that revive your skin, which will bring out that beautiful natural glow.
1 Teaspoon of Bentonite Clay
Bentonite clay is absorbent and forms after volcanic ash ages. For centuries people have used the clay because of all the benefits it provides such improving your skin tone, digestion, detoxifying your body and much more. When you put the mask on you’ll get a small electrical charge that will attract toxins deep in your skin.
1 Teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has many multi-purposes for the skin such as a toner, a cleanser, spot treatment and in a facial mask. It helps premature wrinkles, acne, skin tags and exfoliates by removing the old dead skin cells.
“It can be used as a toner because of its anti-inflammatory properties. It consists of acetic acid and alpha hydroxy acid,” says Dr. Kassardjian. “Acetic acid has keratolytic effects, basically helping unplug blocked pores. And alpha hydroxy acid helps to exfoliate the skin and help in smoothing and improving skin texture, and also helps to absorb excess oils of the skin.”
1 Drop of Lavender and 2 Drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil
Lavender essential oil prevents breaks outs as it kills bacteria as well as unclogging pores and reducing wrinkles too. I always have it in the house as it also helps relaxes me and I pop two drops on my pillow to encourage me to sleep.
Tea tree essential oil is also another popular essential oil that I have in house and is very easy to purchase as it is a popular choice for treating acne due to its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It is also known for reducing redness, swelling, acne scarring and it leaves you with smooth baby bottom skin. Tea tree can also help other skin issues like oily skin, eczema and psoriasis.
Water – Add it in slowly bit by bit as you want a creamy consistency
